After the Expos…

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say Hi these past two weekends in West Springfield and Hartford. I might not have had an opportunity to speak with everyone due to the size of the crowds, so if you have any questions about my style or pricing please feel free to email or call…

Look for me on Facebook, too!

new items in the new year

Lately I've been hard at work on a new display for 2009's wedding expos. I had a trial run with the new booth in the fall, but I've tweeked a few things and am ready for the big shows coming up this month.

I'll be attending the Springfield Bridal Expo at the Big E Fairgrounds in West Springfield on January 10-11 at Booth #537, as well at the Connecticut Bridal Expo at the CT Expo Center in Hartford on January 17-18 at Booth #1128. Feel free to stop by and say hello…

I've also updated the photos on my web site with much new material from throughout the past year. There are a lot of new images, and maybe even some of you for you blogstalkers out there. The site is www.sethkayephotography.com.

Have a great 2009!

Kristen & David's Wedding

I'd met Kristen and David's last year when they first contacted me about photographing their wedding, and as they were into the kind of work I do I couldn't wait for the day to arrive. Plus both the ceremony and reception were places I'd yet to photograph in, which is always good for the creativity. Here are some photos from their day…

Kristen had her hair done first, before the house started to fill with bridesmaids.

The family dog hung out while Kristen's hair was being done.

Mom helping put on a special necklace in the living room.

The cat had become interested in other things while Kristen put in her earrings.

Getting a little help with the makeup.

The ladies teaching themselves the Soulja Boy Superman dance with some help from YouTube.

Kristen's patience was tested while her mother and David's mother tried tying up the back of her dress.

Kristen examining herself all made up.

David and his best man hanging out away from the gathering guests before the ceremony.

A proud grandfather taking snapshots of his grandkids.

Kristen, her dad and her bridesmaids make their way up the chapel steps at the Ethyl Walker School in Simsbury.

The bridesmaids entering the chapel.

Kristen being walked down the aisle by her father.

The doors were left open during the ceremony to allow some cool fall air into the chapel.

The kiss.

This little one amused herself off to the side while the grownups went through the receiving line.

After the receiving line and formals, Kristen & David were taking a horse drawn carriage to the reception.

A Quick Portrait at the chapel.

Hanging out in the Bridal Suite at The Riverview in Simsbury before being announced at the reception.

Kristen & David's first dance…

…after which they asked their wedding party to join them on the dance floor.

Boogie down!

Trying to keep the frosting off the tux.

Kristen and David share a quick kiss during their last dance of the night.

Patty & Tony's Wedding

Patty and Tony recently got married at Hampshire College's Red Barn in Amherst with many friends and family in attendance. Here are some photos from throughout the day…

Someone arrived extra early to put the sign and balloons out front.

Tony arrived early to help set things up…

…and then Patty arrived as well.

Patty being walked toward the ceremony by her brother.

Tony and Patty exchanging vows.

It was a small, though emotional, ceremony.

Thumbs up, Tony!

A bagpiper played both before and, shown here, after the ceremony as the guests made their way through the receiving line.

For the antioxidants.

A Quick Portrait under the venue's giant tree.

As the sun began to set, the shadows grew longer.

A couple of the kids hanging out during the cocktail hour while the adults were otherwise occupied.

Patty and Tony's first dance.

Tony's son watched as the couple cut the cake.

The dance floor was packed for most of the evening.

Tony sharing a few minutes with a friend on the Red Barn's front porch.

A little freestyling for that personal touch.

As the night went on, a few guests said their goodbyes to the couple to make their way home.

Patty and Tony spinning 'round while the music played on.

And finally, the Red Barn after the festivities had ended for the night.
